Officials of the Ministry of Health and Moi University during a courtesy call on Tuesday, 21st January, 2025 at Afya House, Nairobi
The Ministry of Health led by the Director of Administration – Dr. Adan Harakhe hosted a delegation from Moi University that was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academics Research Extension and Student Affairs Prof. Isaac N. Kimengi, Prof. Michael Korir – Director of Quality Assurance Compliance and Performance Contracting, Prof. Patrick K. Maelo - Dean School of Public Health and Ms. Providence Kiptoo – Nairobi Campus School of Public Health Coordinator.
Dr. Harakhe was accompanied by Dr. Grace Ikaahu – Ag. Director for Public Health and Sanitation, Kenya Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Programme lead Dr. Bonface Waweru and Caroline Mbogori.
There were various aspects of discussion that mainly focused on the strengthening mutual and collaborative relations in the implementation of training of residents and emerging opportunities for the Kenya Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Programme.
We appreciate the continued support and contribution of the Ministry of Health and U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in recognition of the need to have a skilled public health workforce that supports the surveillance systems, respond to public health emergencies and use data for decision making.
